for the (hopefully) future parent i'll be

instead of praising my children for achievements (that they should already be getting. straight A's, awards, first place, etc) ((obvs joking)) i will praise them whenever they perform a kind deed. i will encourage actions of kindness and teach them about empathy. good grades and other prizes are no bigger feats than being able to do good on impulse, as a natural part of living.
