perverts and mosquitoes

At long last, SATC is out in HK. I went to the 11am showing thinking it would be quite empty and peaceful. Here when you purchase movie tickets, you choose your seat as well. So I settle on G5 - not too close to the front, center enough, and separate from other people so I can enjoy the movie in peace as I was used to watching SATC by myself. I plop down and this middle-aged nasty ass creeper sits next to me! OKAY. First of all there are at least 50 different seats in the whole theater, what's wrong with you. Second, what the hell is this fool, who probably has never seen the show, who doesn't even know what the movie is about, doing in a theater at 11am on a Friday afternoon. I was truly sickened. As if the heavens heard my desperate plea, my phone rang so I quickly got out of there and changed my seat. Shudder. In fact there were a number of men watching the movie alone; presumably because the title of the film had "sex" in it, and it scored the highest rating in inappropriateness (III). Freaking pervs. Also there was this girl in the theater who would sob intensely. So hardcore! Anyway the movie was wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I felt.

Oh yes and mosquitoes will be the death of me! I have all these bites in inaccessible places (or so I thought). What the hell! I can count 10 at least. Ugh... thank goodness for Asian remedies.

Today we woke up to BLACK RAIN. What this is, is the highest stage of storm warnings. It includes thunder, lightening, caution of mudslides, and floods. Craaazy. So we were basically trapped all morning, hearing the crackling of thunder every 20 seconds and seeing flashes of lightening bouncing off the walls.

I tried to bake, unsuccessfully in my opinion. First I was going to make muffins but they didn't sell cupcake tins at the supermarket. Then I settled on chocolate chip cookies, but they didn't have vanilla pudding to make them all soft so I thought I could substitute gelatin. I will never do that again. They were so freaking chewy and scary. Strangely they ate them all and the pestering neighbor's wife decided to make us cheesecake in return. What a sweetie. Anyway I'm determined to make something wonderful before I leave.

Ok ok one last thing. I've discovered what madness truly is. Madness is 50% off sales at Sanrio stores. Hahaha. There was a sale at the local "Kawaii" store, and holy mother!! These Asians are craaazy. They buy all this shit they don't even need because it's half off. The whole place was ransacked. What a mess. Kids, adults, teens, parents.. you name it, were all scraping up the last of the Disney, Hello Kitty, Doraemon merchandise. Luckily I was able to find the exact Hello Kitty apron I've been coveting for the past day. For only 4$ US! Sweeeet. I love Asia.

EuroCup starts tonight whooo hooo. And tomorrow is the Dragon Boat festival and I get to help my grandma prepare the feast =)
